CIRCA Pintig's BITAW - Flash Fiction Workshop is an exciting opportunity for young Filipino Americans who are passionate about writing and storytelling. Led by founding Pintig Cultural Group member, Larry Leopoldo, this workshop will provide a safe and supportive space for participants to explore the art of flash fiction. No experience necessary.
Through a series of writing exercises and group discussions, you will learn how to craft compelling narratives that pack a punch. You will also have the chance to explore the unique challenges and opportunities that come with writing flash fiction, including the importance of choosing the right words and the power of implication.
Whether you're an experienced writer or just starting out, this workshop is designed to help you hone your craft and take your writing to the next level. You will leave feeling inspired and empowered to tell your own stories, and with the tools you need to do so effectively.

Larry Leopoldo is a writer and cultural activist based in Chicago. He is a founding member of CIRCA Pintig and the Filipino American Historical Society of Chicago. CIRCA Pintig is an organization that works to promote Filipino culture, history, and activism through the performing arts. Larry has contributed significantly to the group's mission by adapting works of fiction by Bienvenido Santos and Jose Rizal for the stage. He also portrayed the lead role of Carlos Bulosan in Pintig Cultural Group's inaugural production in 1991.
Larry has a B.A. in English Literature from DePaul University, and he has self-published a sci-fi fantasy novel titled 'The Mysteries of the VERM' on Amazon. His work has been well-received by readers, and he continues to inspire others with his creativity and dedication to his craft.
Aside from his work in the arts, Larry is also a co-owner of Leopoldo Catering and a contractor.
