Shane Carlin

​Shane Carlin's professional career has been in fundraising and Student Affairs where he was the Director of Development for Student Life and Scholarships at Northwestern University, Assistant Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs Advancement at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Carlin has also worked as the Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations at the National Association of Student Personnel Administrators (NASPA), as well as in Residence Life and Housing at Miami, Northwestern, and Capital Universities. He is a Korean American adoptee where he grew-up in northern Kentucky. Carlin earned his Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Communications from the University of Kentucky and his Master of Science in College Student Personnel from Miami University. Carlin not only has over 20 years of experience in higher education administration, but also has mentored students in international settings. Besides his expertise in higher education, Carlin is an experienced public speaker. He has been invited to speak at universities from coast to coast. In addition, he was a speaker for TEDx Lakeshore East in 2011. Internationally, Carlin presented the 'Western Way of Networking' to students at Hong Kong University Science & Technology (HKUST) and managers at General Electric (GE) in Shanghai at the China Technology Center.

Lissa Prudencio

Lissa Prudencio, AFC®, CFEI®, is an Accredited Financial Counselor®, content creator, and the founder of Wealth for Women of Color. With over 10 years of corporate experience at Google & YouTube, Lissa leverages her business expertise to remove barriers to wealth for women of color. She has grown her TikTok to over 25,000 followers by talking about finances in an inclusive, easy-to-understand way. Lissa is passionate about sharing her knowledge and empowering women of color to claim the wealth they deserve. Her mission is to bridge the wealth gap through educational resources, financial counseling, and partnerships with organizations. Lissa was born and raised in Salinas, CA, to Filipino immigrant parents. Now based in Los Angeles, CA, she is passionate about being a lifelong learner & sharing her knowledge to empower others. Her hobbies include playing basketball, tennis, and pickleball.

Rachel Jimenez Penca

I was the PSA Fashion Show Head Coordinator in 1998, and I brought the show to Foellinger Auditorium for the first time. I was an Advertising and Journalism major under the College of Communications; worked in Advertising for 7 years and then pivoted to the fashion world. Cat Taylo

Cat Taylo is an alumna of UIUC PSA and MAFA. She has hosted 5 FACT workshops covering intergenerational/intercultural conflict, mental health, and sexual violence awareness through the lens of a first-generation Filipina-American. She works at the University of Chicago as the Assistant Director of Academic Affairs in the Physical Sciences Division and her portfolio covers academic lifecycle management and human resources. On the side, she tutors elementary school children, serves as the Director of Communications and Media for the PUSO foundation, and aspires to be a marathon runner by 2025.

Nina Cedro

Nina Duller Cedro, is currently General Manager at Tesla where she has spent the last 6.5 years of her career. Nina grew up in Detroit and graduated from Wayne State University in 2019 with a B.S. in Marketing and Information Systems Management and obtained her MBA in 2020 with Global Supply Chain Management and Marketing. Tesla gave Nina the opportunity to grow in her career and move to the Southwest where she spent 2 years in New Mexico and now resides in Phoenix, Arizona. Outside of work, she serves as a Director of College Outreach for a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization called The PUSO Foundation. Her hobbies include traveling, discovering new food places, and being involved in her salsa + bachata dance team!
